Troop 236 Endwell NY Troop 236

Camping

The outdoors is a major component of the Troop's program, and except for August, we go camping every month throughout the year, including a week of summer camp in July.

Some campouts are geared more toward scouting skills and advancement, such as map and compass work, fire-building, orienteering, etc.  Others campouts are geared toward having fun, such as cross-country skiing, whitewater rafting or high ropes courses.

Our May campout is typically a "Spring Trip" to a destination that's both historical and educational, such as Gettysburg, Boston, Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York City, Washington DC, and Valley Forge.

Troop 236 occasionally schedules a Winter backpacking trip or a Summer backpacking or canoeing trip in the Adirondacks.  The Troop has also sent crews to Philmont Scout Ranch or Florida Sea Base for high-adventure excursions.
